Can you believe a total of 1,362,908 Mercedes-Benz vehicles were sold in 2011? 1 Mercedes-Benz of Fairfield can! This number was just over 77k more units than the former auto manufacturer's record, which was set in 2007. 2011 was a great year for the company, in the U.S. and otherwise. In the U.S. specifically sold 264,460 units, which represents a 17.5 percent increase since 2010's numbers. In fact, 2011 was the best year for Mercedes-Benz (in terms of units sold) in the company's overall history. December sales were a particularly important part of these numbers.
Dr. Dieter Zetsche, CEO of Daimler AG and the Head of Mercedes-Benz explains the numbers, stating, "We're very satisfied with our sales development. In 2011 we sold more vehicles than ever before. We also set the course for the future: The newly introduced generation of the C-Class, the C-Class coupe, the SLK-Class, and the CLS-Class are extremely popular among customers. The same applies to the new B-Class and new M-Class, which were introduced in Europe only recently. The full-year 2011 was also shaped by our strong development in important growth markets such as the BRIC countries and positive development in the U.S."2
Mercedes-Benz plans to continue its success in 2012 with its new Mercedes-Benz A-Class, which will target young adult buyers. The company is also proud to showcase its new CLS Shooting Brake technology which will lead the market in innovative design.
