2018 Mercedes-Benz AMG® GT VS 2018 Audi TT
2018 Mercedes-Benz AMG® GT vs. 2018 Audi TT: Performance
The 2018 Audi TT is lively with its four-cylinder engine and authoritative with its new five-cylinder engine. The standard Quattro all-wheel-drive system keeps the coupe glued to the pavement on twisty roads, with effortless steering and gratifying engine sounds adding to the enjoyment. The TT feels composed on the highway and is fun to drive. Its steering feels precise, and overall grip is excellent. This is not built to be an aggressive sports car. It is a composed car for cruising and touring, and the base model in particular lacks the verve offered by its more powerful rivals. All-wheel drive comes standard in every 2018 TT model. The powertrains base is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 220 horsepower. The engine is mated to a smooth-shifting six-speed automatic transmission, but the acceleration with the base engine gets mixed reviews.
2018 Mercedes-Benz AMG® GT vs. 2018 Audi TT: Feature Comparison
The 2019 Chevrolet Corvette may not have the opulent cabin sported by some competitors, but it still looks and feels pretty luxurious inside. Standard features in the 2019 Corvette include dual-zone automatic climate control, a proximity key, push-button start, *Bluetooth®, a nine-speaker Bose audio system, satellite radio, HD Radio, a rearview camera, and the MyLink infotainment system with an 8-inch touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot. The MyLink infotainment system provides a user-friendly hub for much of the in-cabin technology. The touch screen generally responds well to inputs, but you may want to take advantage of Apple CarPlay or Android Auto for some functions (like voice control and navigation) instead of using MyLink’s native systems. This Chevy doesn’t have much in the way of driver assistance features, and even the few that are there leave room for improvement, so you won’t have as much of a technological safety net as in some luxury cars.
2018 Mercedes-Benz AMG® GT vs. 2018 Audi TT: Overall Comparison
The Audi TT has a sophisticated interior with intuitive infotainment controls. Performance-wise, the new-for-2018 RS trim is the only TT model that doesn’t trail the competition. For that very reason, the Audi TT sits in the bottom third of the rankings. If you’re looking for a luxury sports car with a comfortable interior, elegant styling, and abundant high-tech features, the Audi TT is a great fit. It has standard leather seats, power-adjustable front seats, and a large trunk with enough space for a week’s worth of luggage for you and a guest. However, its performance falls behind the pack. Though the Audi TT’s powertrains have plenty of power for daily driving, lead-footed drivers will probably find it too laid back.
