Dog-Friendly Destinations in Fairfield, CA

Finding dog-friendly places in the Fairfield area can be challenging, and sometimes you want to go somewhere other than the park with your four-legged friend. Three Restaurant

Three Restaurant is located at 721 Texas St. in Fairfield. Dining hours are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and Tuesday through Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, and from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. Their outdoor seating is the perfect place to enjoy a meal with your dog by your side. On cooler days, they heat this area to keep everyone more comfortable.

Three Restaurant also has live music with R&B favorites on Fridays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and jazz and blues every Sunday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Three is part of the Fairfield Summer Music Series with live music in the park and an extended happy hour beginning at 3 p.m. on Sundays in June through September.

Grab a chocolate mocha, cinnamon dolce latte, or chai tea if you want a warm drink. Or for chilled options, try an iced coffee, an iced matcha lemonade or tea, a frappuccino, and more. If visiting for breakfast with your dog, Three offers bagels, Danish pastries, muffins, Belgian waffles, pancakes, omelets, or eggs in your preferred style.  They serve brunch on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Appetizers include crab cakes, cheesy garlic bread, shrimp cocktail, and bruschetta.

Three Restaurant’s menu also features burgers, a tuna melt, a Philly cheesesteak, a meatball sandwich, and a French dip.  Baja fish tacos, chicken tenders, and a fish and chips platter are also available. If you’re at Three for dinner, you can enjoy a New York strip steak, salmon, grilled shrimp, or chicken parmigiana. But save room for their famous cheesecake, bread pudding, or ombre brownie.

Rockville Hills Regional Park

With over 600 acres of oak woodlands and grasslands, you and your pup will find plenty to explore at Rockville Hills Regional Park. This park features more than 30 miles of trails and tracks, plus picnic areas for you to enjoy a lunch under the blue skies. You must purchase a pass to enter the park and always have it on you. However, pass fees directly support the park’s management, so you’re helping keep the park open for just a few dollars a day.

Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash at all times, and owners must pick up after their dogs. Rockville Hills Regional Park is located at 2149 Rockville Road in Fairfield and is open daily from sunrise to sunset for your enjoyment.

Vezer Family Vineyard

The Vezer Family Vineyard, located at 2522 Mankas Corner Road, offers three tasting locations for you and your pooch. Estate Ranch Vineyards, Mankas Gardens, and Blue Victorian are three unique places to explore in the Suisun Valley. Mankas Gardens and Blue Victorian allow you to bring your dog for a visit to the tasting room as long as they’re under 25 pounds. Reservations are available daily and you can book them online for group tasting experiences. Special events this year include the Corvette versus Ferrari Car Show at the Blue Victorian on September 9 and a Dog Walk at Mankas Gardens on Dec. 11.

Rush Ranch

You’ll find Rush Ranch at 3521 Grizzly Island Road, just a few minutes away in Suisun City. This 2,070-acre open space has a nature center you can visit before hitting one of the three hiking trails. The Suisun Hill Trail starts at the main entrance, while the Marsh Trail and South Pasture Trail start directly at the Nature Center. You’ll find a eucalyptus grove, hills with beautiful views of the Suisun Marsh, and a replica of a Patwin hut.

The Suisun Marsh is a brackish tidal marsh, home to various species of plants, birds, and fish. Rush Ranch supports 15 mammal species, 47 families of plants, and 230 bird species.

Strategically located along the trail, benches allow you time to sit and pet your dog as you enjoy the views. While on the trails, you’ll hear songbirds and see shorebirds and waterfowl along the marsh, and you may even catch a glimpse of a river otter if you’re lucky.

Dogs must remain leashed, and pet parents are asked to clean up after their pups. You can visit Rush Ranch daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. with free parking and admission.

Cordelia Community Dog Park

Of course, we must include a dog park in our dog-friendly destinations, so make plans to visit Cordelia Community Dog Park with your furry friend.

You’ll find this off-leash park at 1300 Gold Hill Rd. in Fairfield. There are separate areas for small and large dogs to keep everyone happy and healthy. The space for large dogs is on a slope and features concrete and wood chips along with drops created by landscape timbers to help break the pitch of the hill using tiers. The small dog area is primarily made from concrete and decomposed gravel and is relatively level.

Cordelia Community Dog Park has structures for your dogs to climb on and around as they roam around the park. You can visit the park from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday. Weekend hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
